…well, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration.
The show did allow me to have a roaring fire this morning – and since it was below freezing at 5:30, it felt like a life or death situation to me.
We had used up all of our starter logs, and the only wood we had doesn’t light easily. So, Byron was bundling up to go to the store to get more, when I remembered something from Survivor Man…
He (S’man) had made a fire using sock lint and hand sanitizer which is mostly alcohol! So, I found some cardboard in the garage (that’s a whole separate issue), and grabbed one of my many bottles of hand sanitizer (that’s also a whole different issue…).
So, by the time Byron was ready to leave, I had made a blazing fire! Yea for me! Yea for Survivor Man! (And, yes, Yea for Byron who was willing to go out in subfreezing temps so I could have a fire!).
Now I’m gonna go try some of that show’s other feats…I saw him eat some plants – did he say “always eat” or “never eat” the red berries?…
Wow, being a mom in suburbia can be more harrowing than I ever imagined!
Peace out.

Angie- That’s awesome!!! I love Survivor man…people say TV is bad but you can learn so much!
I love it!
…I just love watching the ones where they are in the snow and I am bundled up in my bed
I know! Who knew that I could learn suburban survival skills from S’man in the Amazon Jungle…
Now, I think he should do a show where he “survives” going to Wal-Mart, 8 months pregnant with three other children, during the Christmas holidays, on Saturday…with cash! I think he’d be crying in the fetal position before it was all over. Just a thought.
Have a great one – thanks for reading! Peace out.
